about
What is Girl Meets Globe?
In simpler terms, GMG is a travel blog dedicated to sharing useful resources and authentic opinions through the lens of a solo female traveler. This site is a helpful tool packed with tips, guides, and information curated from real life experiences from destinations around the world. It is also an educational source that unpacks the vast impacts of travel and tourism- the good, the bad, and the ugly. Lastly, this blog is a collection of lived experiences, mistakes, thoughts, and lessons learned along the uncharted journey of one young woman as she erratically navigates life and the planet in pursuit of culture, connection, and purpose.

Mission + Purpose
Our goal is to make a positive impact on those impacted by travel and spark change within modern tourism practices. By questioning stereotypes, inspiring change in tourist behaviors, and redefining what travel looks like for everyone, we aim to spark positive change through the joy of travel. We believe that travel is powerful and beyond the attractive Instagram story, and recognize travel has the ability to empower individuals, communities, and environments alike. We are passionate about showing everyone that regardless of the restraints we are subject to (race, financial status, gender, sexuality, body size, etc.) you are capable of experiencing the transformative power of travel, despite what the media and societal influences lead you to believe.

That’s me, the person behind every word, photo, and unsolicited opinion on this website. I won’t bore you with the details, but I am a pansexual bi-racial Latina twenty-something from the states with and the agitating incapability to sit still. I’d describe myself as a creative free spirit that . Others may describe me as a that laughs at her own jokes and talks too much. I crave knowledge, culture, connection, and experiences from every corner of the Earth. One could argue my attraction to a nomadic lifestyle and crippling commitment issues could stem from deep rooted issues of belonging, my life-long identity crises, or an easy way to ‘avoid reality’ (and they may be right). I’ve got a lot to learn, a lot to say, and a lot of commitment issues. I justifiably spent all of my life prioritizing grind culture and priding myself on my hustler mentality, as I followed a seductive money trail into an eternal abyss of unfulfillment. Last year when I quit my job, sold all my stuff, and decided to live out a suitcase for the foreseeable future I had no idea what to expect. I am not going to sell you on a success story of how I quit my 9-5 to travel the world and now I am successful and rich in waterfalls and the freedom to live life on my own terms because well, that would be bullsh*t. Truthfully, I still don’t know where I am going or where I will end up, and it’s kind of invigorating. I started prioritizing self-care, happiness, creativity, and the pursuit of knowledge in all aspects of my life.As a nomadic soul, I’ve turned my life into a revolving door of new cities and new representations of ‘home’ pretty often.
